Plaid was everywhere at London Fashion Week.  Regardless of who says plaid is in or out, I think it's a constant classic.  Pair this preppy pattern with leather moto jackets and boots for a look a little less school girl and more cool girl!  There's just something about wearing plaid that screams fall weather and curling up next to a fire.  Although cozy plaid flannel shirts are so comfortable, this trend has evolved to a more chic and sophisticated look, such as a pencil skirt or a polished sheer plaid blouse.  This Free People skirt is fab and so is this Marc Jacobs one which is also on sale!  In the colder months this statement coat by Madewell would be a great option to bring in the plaid trend to your wardrobe.  Talking about staying chic, this sheer blouse from Forever 21 will do just that, paired with a high waist leather skirt you will be good to go!  You could also add these plaid flats and do print mixing.  Have fun with it and happy Fall!

I have been ready for a while now to start wearing my fall booties.  If there is one single piece in your wardrobe that will never go out of season, is a fab pair of ankle boots.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but they may be the only pair of shoes that look killer with bare legs and a dress, skinny jeans, tights and a skirt and even slouchy trousers.  And what a great selection we have for this season.  Whether you choose flat or heeled, you will not be disappointed with an ankle boot.  Hurry and click on the below links to invest in a good pair now and never regret your decision.  No matter the price, you will wear them season after season, year after year.  Happy shopping!

First up - Burberry

Let's just start by saying, "WOW"!  I was completely in awe over this runway show.  This Burberry collection fused the sexy and the protective.  The mix of prints, sparkle, incredible heels, vibrant pastels and impeccable detail were all showstoppers.  Not to mention the amazing white sunglasses every girl would love for Spring.  Well done!

Next up - DAKS

This was my favorite look all around from the Daks runway show.  With the ever so popular 70s inspired silhouette, this iconic look stole the show in my opinion.  Where can I find those fantastic earrings?

Moving on to - Mulberry

With such great color combos using only orange, light blue, navy, black and a few more pastels, no wonder Mulberry is so loved.  That handbag was my favorite out of the show!  There was a definite aspiration to the sixties with shift dresses, brocade skirts and sweet suits which I adore.

On to - Tom Ford

Who doesn't love Tom Ford?  I do!  With leather becoming more and more popular in the spring and summer seasons, this show proved that leather is still going strong way past fall and winter.  But not just any kind of leather, LUXE leather.  We wouldn't expect any thing less!  Although I'm obsessed with this leather look, my eye went straight towards this super-charged short coral dress with sheer inserts.  Right up my alley!

Last, but not least - Temperley London

Where do I start?  Temperley was inspired by a holiday in Sicily which is quite obvious given the array of luxurious heavy silks and beautiful sheer fabrics.  This show was very glamorous and opulent to say the least without being overpowering.  But can you guess what stole the show?  It was the exquisite silhouettes and embellishments of each garment.  Trapeze shapes, dropped waists and exaggerated shoulders made for elegant, timeless dresses while crystal embellishments and embroidered flowers were breathtakingly beautiful.  The vibrant colors alone are enough to make this collection stand out.  Absolutely my favorite show hands down of London Fashion Week!

Hurry up!  Last day to get 20% off EVERYTHING at Piperlime.  Plus get 30% off at Old Navy and 35% off at Gap and Banana Republic.  So first up...Necklaces!  This Tinley Road one is a must have and so is this Sabine one.  I'm in need of a new tablet folio and this Kate Spade one is perfect.  To hop on the Burgundy color trend bus I thought this Vince Camuto drawstring bag would be a great to do just that.  I usually don't gravitate towards drawstring bucket bags, but this one is so chic.  And how great would this Loeffler Randall clutch dress up your LBD which adds a little funk to your look.  Go now and shop your heart out at Piperlime, Banana Republic, Gap and Old Navy!

I used to be a HUGE fan of awards shows.  Now, not so much.  Maybe that's because my favorite shows never get nominated anymore (Dexter, The Walking Dead....and many more).  If I'm watching, it's usually for the fashion.  I wish I attended events where I can dress up to the nines and wear fancy gowns, jewelry and accessories....sigh.  Here's some of my favorites for best dressed this year from the 65th Annual Emmy Awards.  I absolutely love simple looks, but I also adore dresses with some flare!  My top pick is Michelle Dockery in Prada.  Her gown has everything from color-blocking to timeless elegance.  And let's talk about the killer dress Rose Byrne is wearing.  It's by Calvin Klein and to say the least, is very flattering on her frame.  Loving how she incorporated the crop top trend and also managed to stay classy and sexy at the same time.  I could go on and on...hope you enjoy my picks!  Who was your favorite?

With the holidays just around the corner, I think we can all agree that special and thoughtful gifts are those you treasure most.  You wouldn't think a calendar is one of those gifts, but now it can be.  In the heat of social media and everything technological, let's slow down a bit and appreciate the small things.  There's no denying the beauty of a well-crafted letterpress calendar handing in the office or kitchen.  These are some of the prettiest ones I've seen and each piece will feel like a daily luxury of much greater value.  For a more sentimental touch, have the calendar personalized with your loved one's initials.  Enjoy!
