CUTE BUT CASUAL

I love bright and bold colors and this look is not the exception.  I found this neon yellow sweater from Banana Republic on major sale and I'm so glad I picked it up.  It's the perfect lightweight top that will work in both fall and spring (even hot Texas spring!).  They only had a medium, but I got it anyway as I love the slouchy / baggy look on the weekends.  And boyfriend jeans are just so darn comfortable!

BIKER MEETS ATHLETIC

So I'm completely obsessed with this combo.  I love a little sport flair paired with edgy leather, but a touch of girly with leopard heels.  I've had this faux leather jacket from Express for years and still love it and looks just as good as day one.  I thought this look was perfect to showcase this lovely Boucler Bracelet courtesy of Moni Bijoux.  Fun fact: Boucler is French for buckle.  Love the silver glitter accent and is a great layering piece for an arm party!  If you haven't visited their little shop, you should definitely check it out.  Have you entered my latest giveaway?  Enter here to win a fabulous Moni Bijoux statement necklace, today's the last day!!  Scroll for outfit details.

I FOUND THE PERFECT: SWEATER TUNIC

I found it, again I said I found it!  The perfect sweater tunic that is long enough to wear with leggings, but not too long to wear with jeans.  But the best part is....there's no wool in it!  I cannot stand the feeling of wool touching my skin (maybe I'm allergic), so I can never wear it.  This sweater has side slits so it's very flattering and flows easily over your body.  I want it in all colors!  I currently have just the heather grey and bright orange.  The next one I get will probably be the cream with charcoal sleeves.  I do wish they had more color options with the contrast color sleeves.  It is by Trouve and you can get it HERE, check it out!!  Oh and did I mention...this is my 100th post!  Get excited!!

SPLURGE VS. STEAL 》THE GREEN SATCHEL

Ok, so we all know that girls love to splurge on designer handbags.  We can't resist!  But sometimes not everybody can justify these purchases.  Luckily, I've got you covered in that department!  I just found this super chic bag from Target last weekend.  I could not get over how similar it was to this Kate Spade and this Michael Kors.  In person it's really unbelievable!  I was so impressed with the quality that I bought it for myself.  I absolutely love it so far.  Some, I know, might have a problem with choosing such a similar knock-off, but I don't care!  Right now, for me, this will work just fine.  Anyone else with me??  I've gotten so many compliments about it since carrying this bag.  I would highly recommend it!  Which version do you prefer?

VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT GUIDE》FOR HER

Middle Column: Lips Ring // Pink Throw // Love Necklace // Clarisonic // Stationary

For those of you who already have a wishlist for Valentine's Day, here's a few more ideas!  Me and my husband usually don't exchange gifts on this holiday, but when we do, it's always a small knick knack just to say "I love you".  Most of the time we will go out for dinner and a movie.  Sometimes I'll even cook for him (he's the cook in the family!)  My vote is for the "love" necklace, the pink lingerie set and the lips ring!  What's your favorite?

Stay tuned later this week for a Gift Guide for Him!

WHO'S READY FOR THE WEEKEND?

Image source - could I have that?

The answer...I AM!  This was me this morning (minus the fancy PJ's of course).  Let's just say I am not a morning person, not at all.  It took all I had to get up, get ready and go to work.  For one, it was 16 degrees out this morning (in Dallas!) so therefore all I wanted to do was stay warm in my bed and sleep.  But once again because I live in Texas, it will be 70 degrees this weekend and that makes me very very happy.  Any other period in my life I wouldn't be too happy with the constant weather change because all throughout my childhood I longed for cold weather, snow and ice even.  This might have been the excitement of hoping for a snow day and stay home from school.  But now that I'm an adult, I appreciate the greatness of 70 degree weather even in the winter time (except for Christmas, Christmas weather needs to be cold!).  Enough about the weather...I'm so excited for this weekend because tomorrow me and my friends, Jennifer and Johnnie are getting together to discuss a fun upcoming project!  Jennifer of Jennifer Crenshaw Photography is an amazing photographer based here in Dallas and specializes in bridal and wedding photography.  Johnnie of Prettibloom Artistry is an awesome make-up artist and hair stylist and specializes in portraits and also weddings.  Stay tuned because you won't want to miss it.  Happy Friday y'all!

CURRENTLY INSPIRED BY: 70's RETRO STYLE

What's not to love about 70's style?  I adore it and currently see it everywhere!  I've ALWAYS looked at the 70's for inspiration for my daily outfits.  I love the effortless look it creates.  Who knows, maybe it's because of the recent release of American Hustle (I just had to add a picture of the ever so chic Jennifer Lawrence).  The appearance of denim is a huge factor here and layering piece by piece.  How great is this Denim Maxi Dress from Asos?!  The classic silhouettes of a high waist, straight skirts and longs jackets just scream retro vintage.  To say this trend will be huge for Spring is an understatement.  It was seen everywhere on the runways during Spring 2014 Fashion Week.  Believe it or not, Spring is right around the corner.  I say it every year that I'm ready for Spring/Summer, but when it gets here and it's 100 degress outside, I regret it!  Needless to say, even though it's still winter, you can pair this amazing flowy blouse with a pair of these ultra flared jeans and you've got the 70's retro vibe down to a T!  How do you feel about this trend?

FASHION CITED: LITTLE BLACK DRESS EVENT

Last Thursday I attended Fashion Cited: Little Black Dress Party at Murray Covens Contemporary in Dallas, TX.  I had a great time visiting and connecting with new people in the industry.  For those of you who don't know about Fashion Cited, it has become one of the most anticipated and exciting fashion shows in North Texas.  The shows co-producers, local designers Francisco Flores and Cathy Garcia, are well-known for engaging established and emerging designers and clothiers to create a high-energy fashion show.  Previous shows featured Nha Khanh, Abi Ferrin and several others.  What's so great about this event is that it benefits the Legal Hospice of Texas, a nonprofit law firm providing compassionate legal services at no charge to low income individuals who are terminally ill or HIV positive.  The Little Black Dress Party was a "sneak peak" for what is in store for the grand event which will be held April 3rd.  You can read more about the upcoming fashion show here and to buy tickets click here.  During this event, the designer's models wore their "little black dress" and the guests had to vote for their favorite.  At the end of the night the winner was revealed.  Scroll down to check out the winning look.
