TREND ALERT: FALL INTO PIECES

Say hello to some of Fall's newest trends in fashion and home.  Jump on the bandwagon and don't be afraid to step out in one or even two of these trends!  Loving the vintage Nikes and the bedazzled ball cap especially when paired with other dressier pieces.  How cool is this checker board dress?  Which one is your favorite?  Is there something I missed that you just can't get enough of?  I would love to know!

SATURDAY TREND SPOTTING 》PLAID ALL AROUND AT LFW

Plaid was everywhere at London Fashion Week.  Regardless of who says plaid is in or out, I think it's a constant classic.  Pair this preppy pattern with leather moto jackets and boots for a look a little less school girl and more cool girl!  There's just something about wearing plaid that screams fall weather and curling up next to a fire.  Although cozy plaid flannel shirts are so comfortable, this trend has evolved to a more chic and sophisticated look, such as a pencil skirt or a polished sheer plaid blouse.  This Free People skirt is fab and so is this Marc Jacobs one which is also on sale!  In the colder months this statement coat by Madewell would be a great option to bring in the plaid trend to your wardrobe.  Talking about staying chic, this sheer blouse from Forever 21 will do just that, paired with a high waist leather skirt you will be good to go!  You could also add these plaid flats and do print mixing.  Have fun with it and happy Fall!

YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT 》PHILLIP LIM FOR TARGET

Source

If you don't already know, Phillip Lim for Target launched yesterday.  This fall capsule collection consists of versatile pieces which have been advertised to be able to transition you from day to night with ease.  Everything from trench coats, blouses, skirts, dresses to lingerie and handbags, there is something here for everyone.  The color story is actually quite nice and fresh for the new upcoming fall season.  With hues of khaki, baby blue, navy, black and grey mixed with splashes of kelly green, yellow, orange and that very pretty floral print, I think make the essential pieces in the collection stand out.  One of the most popular items had to be this Classic Khaki Trench with baby blue lining.  Another favorite was the Cross Body Mini Satchel in a golden yellow color.  Unfortunately, both are already sold out, unless you were first in line!  Me, I'm not one for crowds, so I typically wait till the next day to see if I can find some leftover gems still hangin' around.  Who knows, maybe I can catch a break with eBay.  I did, however, glance over this website which lists out everything with a to the hour update on what is still available online.  I'm actually thinking about this daring leopard print number.  To shop the whole collection (or what's left of it) - click here.  I would normally link everything in the pictures below, but since most are sold out, I felt like it wouldn't really help you out much. Take a look below at some of my top looks for both women and men.  Enjoy!

SATURDAY TREND SPOTTING 》FALL PASTEL COATS

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Pastel's are here to stay!  By that, I mean not only will you see them in Spring, but they are hot for Fall!  In particular, pastels are making a huge statement in staple pieces such as winter coats, trench coats, blazers and my favorite - leather jackets.  I'm loving this Pastel Blue Faux Leather Moto Jacket, and what better way to rock this look but with a leather jacket?!  It's all about standing out from the crowd.  You will not go unnoticed with colors like yellow, lavender and pink screaming from your coat!  If you feel reluctant to go all out sporting a pastel winter coat, try it with this Pastel Pink Blazer.  The point is to have fun with it, that's what color is all about!

EMPHASIS ON COLOR: TEAL

Teal is everywhere and will be huge for this Fall season.  This not quite green, not quite blue color has emerged as a universally flattering color favored by runways all across the world.  This color is great for head-to-toe looks in various shades in tonal varieties.  Within this color story you will find mixes of teal, turquoise and alpine green which creates a fresh hybrid from last fall.  These new seasonal shades offers a more sophisticated blend and are moving away from the playful, tropical sea-foam shades of last season.  These are my picks of some teal favorites in stores now, happy shopping!

FALL / WINTER 2013 COLOR FORECAST

Rich wine shades have depth and texture to reflect this season’s emotional and luxurious aspects.  Vivacious and Beaujolais operate as a berry duo lending velvety expression.  Highlights of Samba Red lift the palette to create a sumptuous finish.

Orange along with brown and tan are essential tones for this season, drawing together military references and antique luxury nuances.  Varying tones from brass to pale gold create variation between the light and dark.

Retro green hues become completely contemporary in fresh varieties.  Fantastical themes bring newness to this collection and inspire frivolity and playfulness.  The ever so popular Emerald Green is vibrant and definite, and represents a new take on green for fall/winter.  Linden and Deep Lichen Green are searing and warm lending an unexpected touch to this palette.

Purple continues to reign this season, acting as a versatile hue that can represent both regal and somber approaches.  Acai Purple is vibrant and strong, echoing the legacy of royal rulers.

Blues become murky and unclear in rich teal variations for fall and winter.  Rather than the classic and reliable blue tones, this season’s option offers a more emotive and poetic response. Mykonos Blue is a mix of ink blue and turquoise to create a classic teal tone that works for this season.  Let’s not forget about Turbulence Grey which brings the entire palette together.  I personally love this palette and think it's spot on with what we saw on the runway.  What do you think?
